I offer therapeutic supports to neurodivergent children, young people, their families, and adults.
My experience and research tell me that rewards and consequences aren’t the best tool for supporting neurodivergent individuals – they just don’t work!
(Check out my video for more information!)
I provide custom, tailored support that builds awareness of what strengths and vulnerabilities exist for an individual and their family.
We build on strengths to support areas that may be difficult; collaboratively problem-solving to identify supports that are realistic and workable.
I am passionate about supporting families as a whole unit, and believe caregivers are vital in their child or young person’s therapy journey.
This may be through participating in your child’s session, or regularly catching up to consider how best to support your teen.
Caregiver participation will be discussed during your initial session.
Here are some areas where I may be able to assist:
-
How to help your children (and you!) feel safe, secure and regulated.
-
A Guide to understanding the sensory needs of both individuals and their families.
-
Finding ways to make life suit the individual, not the other way around.
-
Supporting your teen’s independence.
If you are interested in support around fine motor skills, gross motor skills, feeding or broader developmental goals, there are other Occupational Therapists who do that work much better than I do! 😊
